db-ceramics is an artisan workshop based in Les Brosses d’Azérables, in the Creuse department, specialising in the creation of glazed ceramic furniture. Each piece, crafted with meticulous expertise, combines strength, elegance and durability.
Made from a clay body similar in composition to Limoges porcelain, fired at 1300°C and glazed by hand, our creations are designed to withstand the elements, scratches and the test of time, whilst offering a luxurious finish and a distinctly sensory design.
Our trays, tables and decorative pieces, available individually or in small batches, are aimed at architects, interior designers and private clients seeking unique and durable pieces.
Each creation is signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity, guaranteeing its quality and authenticity.
We also offer bespoke pieces, tailored to your specific requirements in terms of shape, colour and texture.
Our creations blend seamlessly into both modern and classic interiors, as well as outdoor settings.
At the start of the manufacturing process, the various mineral components of the ceramic are mixed to form a paste, which is then cast into a mould of the desired shape.
After being removed from the mould, the piece undergoes a lengthy drying process in a temperature-controlled kiln.
Following this drying process, which can take between 4 and 6 weeks depending on the piece, it is fired in a kiln and then glazed in one or more stages, depending on the desired finish.
The glazing process is the culmination of the piece’s creation; it is crucial as it is this process that will enhance, reveal and bring out the best in a unique piece with deep, long-lasting colours.
The enamels are created from ingredients that are meticulously measured and blended, and are subjected to specific firing cycles.
A wide range of colours and textures has been developed, drawing on expertise acquired through countless trials, innovation and hard work, as well as setbacks and pleasant surprises.
The enamel will be applied in one or more layers, fired in one or more sessions. The finish will be smooth, white, coloured or textured. Depending on the collection, it will also be possible to transfer a ‘chromo’ featuring a decorative pattern onto the enamel layer. The enamel may also be ‘cracked’.
